Lotus 91

Models: Lotus 91

Scale: 1/43

Kit Manufacturer: Tameo

Material: white metal

Kit Notes:

This car was driven by Elio de Angelis and his team mate that year was Nigel Mansell, but has a sad place in the history of Formula 1. This was the last Lotus that Colin Chapman saw win a Grand Prix. The model depicts the car that Elio won the Austrian GP with on 15th August 1982.

Although the car looked good, in its black and gold JPS livery, technology had caught up with Lotus. Ground effects was used by everyone and the Cosworth engine was starting to get a little long in the tooth.

The kit is the usual Tameo. White metal body and main wing element, rubber tyres, turned metal wheels and photo etched wing end plates, suspension and seat belts. There are also two sets of perfect decals just in case you make a mistake. Altogether a very nice model of a typical early 80's F1 car.
