Back in 1979 F1 cars were still riveted together sheets of aluminium over steel tube frames. Wind tunnels and CAD were a long way away and it was cheap to take your ideas from the pen to the starting grid. One such creation was the Arrows A2.

The idea was to streamline the car so it would cut through the air faster than the opposition. This it did down the straights but unfortunately it couldn't handle the bends as well as the opposition

The model is a relatively simple resin kit from Provence Moulage, but builds into a good representation of this strange creation when it appeared at the start of the season.
